The Babenberger Genealogie

This panel painting, dated 1489-1492s, shows the female genealogie of the Babenberger family. It shows a wonderful mixtures of syles. Several depicted details and possible constructions and decorations are still very educating and enlightning! However, if these can be interpreted as accurate portraits remains to be said... Translating the scrolls (and further studies of the bebenberger family line) might help to deduce if some of the women are meant to represent specific regions eand periods. Unfortunately my German is non-excisting, and thus not up for that task!
